Kyowa de Mexico, also known as Kyomex, is a division of Kyowa America Corporation. Kyomex contacted Coast Industrial Systems, Inc. with the task of applying a piano black finish to TV bezels. This coating was quick-reacting two-component (2K) polyurethane, in which Kyomex wanted precise, automatic proportioning with integrated flow control to interface with their existing paint robots.

Coast Industrial Systems, Inc. provided and installed four Graco™ ProMix II 2K Auto proportioning systems with flow control. The coating resin, catalyst and flush solvent were supplied to the ProMix II; the robot controller then selected flow rate according to its path programming. At the conclusion of a finishing cycle the robot controller initiates a flush cycle that purges the mixed material from the mixer and fluid lines with a predetermined mixture of solvent and air leaving the system purged and cleaned ready for the next cycle.

The systems, as installed, integrated with their existing robot system & delivered the 2K material on-ratio and on-target with precise flow control as required by Kyomex.
